Fluidly coding and designing responsive emails.

Emails for the win:

Email campaigns can be one of the most affordable and effective ways for a brand to stay connected with their audience. They allow personalized, engaging and specifically tailored content, are easily measurable, and almost everyone uses email.

The challenges with email coding and design:

Online experiences are constantly evolving and changing. Keeping up-to-date with fluid layouts and consumer’s interests and interactions across all the various devices, can be a challenging task.

The other hard component about emails is that there are many different email clients. Email code can easily be misinterpreted across devices, clients, and platforms, making it challenging to find a harmonious solution.

The solve:

From research lead from another designer on my team,² a single-column layout was the result of 2018’s best practices for email code, design and user experience. Picking up the templated code, I was able to customize the layout and the design to best fit Command™ Brand’s vision and consumers.

Keeping up with email coding tricks and hacks to continually improve experiences, is not only fun for me, but crucial for brands.
